Mankameshwar Mandir Lucknow: Ancient 1,000-Year-Old Shiva Temple on the Gomti

The Sacred Heart of Ancient Lakshmanpuri: Mankameshwar Mandir

Perched right on the northern embankment of the holy Gomti River near Daliganj Bridge, Mankameshwar Mandir is the oldest and most spiritually revered temple in Lucknow. Devotees believe that a sincere prayer (Mano-kamna) offered at this ancient Shivalinga never goes unanswered.

Rituals, Aartis & Mahashivratri Celebrations

The temple is renowned for its divine evening aartis where hundreds of brass bells resonate across the river. During the sacred month of Shravan and on Mahashivratri, thousands of pilgrims line the riverbanks from before dawn to offer holy Gomti water, bilva leaves, and milk to the ancient deity.
